British chef, restaurateur and TV presenter Rick Stein has teamed up with Bowel Cancer UK for its 30th anniversary campaign, titled Be a Star, Bake a Cake, encouraging members of the public to host a bake sale to raise money for the charity.

Celebrity chefs including Brian Turner, Eric Lanlard, Tom Aikens, The Hairy Bikers, Gennaro Contaldo, Ella Mills (aka Deliciously Ella), and Tom Kitchin have also lent their support by sharing their favourite recipes for people to try, and Lanlard commented 'I'm supporting Bowel Cancer UK's Be a Star, Bake a Cake campaign as I'd like to raise awareness to stop bowel cancer – every 15 mins in the UK someone is diagnosed with bowel cancer – let's get baking and help spread the word!'.
